City to decide on plastic bags in July

What the City of El Paso should do about plastic bags was supposed to be discussed Wednesday at a special City Council meeting but has been delayed until the end of next month.

Up for discussion will be if the City should institute a plastic bag ban, introduce a plastic bag fee or an enhanced plastic bag recycling/education program.

A single-use bag ban has been adopted in Austin, Brownsville, Fort Stockton, Toronto and other cities.
