Missing family of former UTEP basketball player found safe

The family of former UTEP basketball star Chris Blocker are alive and well after not being heard from since Monday night in Missouri.

Odessa Blocker, Chris’ wife, called her mother and said she had left Monday night to avoid conflict with Chris, according to a report by Fox 4 TV station in Missouri Thursday.

Odessa had called Chris on Monday night and told him she was going to go to McDonald’s with her three children. She was not heard from for more than two days.

Chris said he and his wife were planning on getting a divorce anyway before the disappearance.

Chris played basketball for the UTEP Miners in El Paso, Texas and helped lead the team to NCAA Tournament appearances in the late-’80s.
