UTEP wants to ‘black out’ the Haskins Center for tonight’s game

The UTEP men’s basketball team kicks off a two-game homestand versus Florida Atlantic tonight and is asking fans to help “Black Out” the Don Haskins Center.

The Miners will wear black uniforms for the first time in a home game when they play Florida Atlantic at 7:05 p.m.

UTEP students, the band and spirit squads will be wearing black and fans are asked to wear black as well.

Tickets are $8, $12 and $15 and 5,000 Wells Fargo cups will be given away.

UTEP (18-6, 8-1 C-USA) is in first place in the Conference USA standings and has the nation’s 10th-longest active winning streak at eight games. The Miners have won five straight conference games by 10 points or more for the first time since 1957. UTEP is 13-1 in its last 14 games.

The Miners will also host FIU on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. Saturday’s game will feature a special halftime performance by “America’s Got Talent” winner Olate Dogs.
