Computers, cameras seized from El Paso man charged with possessing child porn

A 37-year-old El Paso man has been arrested on child pornography charges.

The El Paso Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Unit on Jan. 27 arrested and charged Chris Frias, of the 1500 block of Mundy, with Possession of Child Pornography and two counts of Promotion of Child Pornography. He also is known as Chris Acosta, according to jail records.

Police officials say that investigators conducting an ongoing investigation executed a search warrant on Nov. 8, 2013 at a home in the 1500 block of Mundy. According to other public records, Frias lived in an apartment in that home.

Police say Frias possessed visual material that showed a child, younger than 18 years old at the time the picture was taken, engaging in sexual conduct.

Police say the pictures were shared via an internet website on July 3, 2013.

Further investigation revealed that Frias was in possession of more than 500 pictures of child pornography, according to police.

A Jan. 28, 2014 FBI forfeiture notification states the following items were seized from Frias’ apartment on Nov. 8, 2013:

Police arrested Frias on Jan. 27 and he was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility.
