Street in Horizon blocked off after ‘serious traffic collision’ causes gas leak

UPDATE: According to Horizon City Police Department, officers received a call of a collision at 11:34 am to 1400 block of Katherine Dr.

When officials arrived they found a vehicle had crashed into an empty car that was parked in a resident's driveway, and then struck a gas medium causing a leak, officials say.

The driver of the vehicle was transported to the hospital, their condition remains unknown according to officials.

According to the Horizon City Police Department, the crash is still being investigated but "alcohol and speed do not seem to be an indicator for the accident".

Texas Gas has confirmed that crews are assessing damages to the gas line and "make repairs once the area is cleared. A portion of Katherine Drive is currently closed near the affected address."

HORIZON CITY, Texas (KVIA)- The Horizon City Police Department has blocked off a section of a neighborhood near Katherine Dr. to investigate a serious crash.

Officials have also asked that residents stay away from the area near Katherine at Fuji and Katherine at Lauren.
