Hanks girls wrestling team takes state title

Hanks celebrated its victory in the Texas 4A Girls wrestling tournament after taking the highest honor in the state.

This is the first time any El Paso school wins the state title in wrestling.

Some of the big performances included Hanks Junior Danielle Flores who pinned Amarillo Caprock’s Janae McDaniel. Hanks Freshman Adrienne Holguin beat Victoria West’s Lorraina Moses both Flores and Holguinare state champions.

Other Lady Knights ranked as follows…

Brianna Holcomb wins 3rd Giselle Escobedo wins 5th Dasia Ornelas wins 4th

In the boys division Jacob Campa earned 3rd place.

The team will arrive back in town from Dallas Sunday. ABC-7’s Weekend Sports Anchor, Collin Carroll will have more on this big win for the Knights on ABC-7 at Ten.
