For a few moments, UTEP’s big game against Oklahoma threatened to morph into some sort of surreal reality TV show. About mustard.

Fox Sports cameras focused on two big jars of mustard displayed prominently on the UTEP sidelines, while commentators J.C. Pearson and Mike Morgan discussed the tangy condiment.

As the game stretched into the third quarter on the sweltering Saturday night and players struggled with leg cramps, the Miners’ athletic trainers reached for the mustard.

No, you don’t rub it in. You eat it?
