City’s amnesty program to collect extra trash and recycling bins continues

The City of El Paso’s Environmental Services Department has had nearly 650 trash and recycling bins returned by the public by people who had extra bins and hadn’t been paying for them.

The amnesty period for the return of extra trash, recycling bins is set to end Sept. 14 but community response may lead it to be extended to Sept. 20

The public won’t be asked any questions about the bins if they drop them off at the Citizen Collection Stations.

The stations are located at:
4501 Hondo Pass (entrance off Stahala)
2492 Harrison; 121 Atlantic
4200 Delta
1034 Pendale.

The sites are open 8a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
