Man arrested in Central El Paso accused of injury to a child

El Paso police took a man into custody Friday afternoon in Central El Paso.

Police said the suspect, described only as a 22-year-old man, punched a 2-year-old boy at a home the 3800 block of Tyler Avenue.

Investigators said the child was taken from that home to University Medical Center, but that his injuries were not serious.

The 22-year-old is facing charges of injury to a child. Police did not release his name.
