Police warn of scam to collect money for injured officer
The El Paso Police Department is warning of people trying to solicit funds on behalf of Officer Jonathan Molina who was violently attacked almost one week ago.
The El Paso Municipal Police Officer’s Association has learned that there are individuals calling members of the community soliciting funds and asking for personal information such as credit card numbers to take donations.
The El Paso Police Department and the El Paso Municipal Police Officer’s Association(E.P.M.P.O.A) are not making and solicitation calls to the community, according to the El Paso Police Dept.
The Association President, Sgt. Ron Martin, said that if anyone wanted to make a contribution that the association is accepting donations for the family but the association is not soliciting.
