Nov. 2012: Border Patrol Agent dies while on patrol

The body of a Border Patrol Agent who died in Big Bend on Friday was transported to its final resting place at Fort Stockton Sunday afternoon.
The Chief of Border Patrol says 44-year-old Agent David Delaney was in the process of hiking to a location near Big Bend National Park to setup a camera when he had a “medical emergency.”His cause of death is listed as a duty-related illness on an official release.
Agent Delaney was a ten-year Border Patrol veteran, assigned to the Big Bend National Park.Delaney is survived by a wife and three children.
C.B.P. officials say they do not believe Delaney’s death was related to foul play.
