Will Kyle Blanks Play In El Paso?

One player, El Pasoans are hoping to get the chance to see in person, and in a Chihuahua uniform is Padres star prospect Kyle Blanks.

“The town really seems to embrace the team and wants us to get there,” Kyle Blanks said. “It seems they have a following that happened overnight, and its going to be fun to play baseball there.”

Blanks towers over people at six foot six inches tall, and 265 pounds. More importantly, he has been crushing the ball against his opponents.

Entering Tuesday night, Blanks was hitting .333 and on a seven game hitting streak. He also is leading the team in home runs and slugging percentage.

Chihuahuas manager Pat Murphy doesn’t want to see his first baseman go, but also knows its part of the business.

“You never can tell,” Chihuahuas manager Pat Murphy explained. “It’s all about the need of the team (Padres) I can’t really speculate but Blanks would be considered.”

Blanks right now has his eye on the ball, and on getting the call from San Diego.

“My goal is to get the big leagues,” Blanks said. “I really want to play well and if the stars align then get up there sooner rather than later.”

Kyle Blanks has looked good in an El Paso Chihuahua uniform thus far, but the question remains; how will he be wearing it?
