Pedestrian struck on I-10

A pedestrian is in the hospital after being struck on I-10 East Monday night.

The incident happened around 8:45 p.m. near Zaragoza in East El Paso. Emergency dispatchers confirm the man was taken to Del Sol Hospital with serious injuries.

Police have not said what the man was doing on the freeway. Initial radio transmissions suggested the man may have been suicidal. Police would not confirm that.

The incident forced the closure of I-10 East Monday night. It has since opened again.
