Canutillo man charged with animal cruelty

CANUTILLO, Texas (KVIA) -- Juan Gutierrez, 55, is charged with cruelty to a non-livestock animal after the El Paso County Animal Welfare Unit found a dead dog outside Gutierrez's home.

The unit, along with Sheriff deputies, found several other dogs, all in bad condition, at the house as well. That is according to the El Paso County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies booked Gutierrez into jail on four counts of cruelty to a non-livestock animal on a $15,000 bond.
