Fire burns house in Las Cruces

LAS CRUCES, New Mexico (KVIA) -- A house on the 1800 block of Lester Avenue caught fire Tuesday evening.

Fire crews were called out just before 7 p.m. They arrived at the house to find heavy smoke and fire. Hoarding conditions slowed down the firefighting process, a Las Cruces Police Department spokesperson said.

No one was inside the house at the time of the fire. No one was reported injured.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
