2nd person wanted in Dona Ana teen sex assault case arrested
The second person wanted in by Dona Ana County investigators in connection with a sexual assault in an East Mesa, Dona Ana County home has been arrested in Ruidoso.
Acting on a tip from the U.S. Marshal’s Office, Eloy O. Gonzales, 21, was taken into custody Tuesday by the Ruidoso Police Department. Investigators are working on transporting Gonzales back to Doa Ana County.
Gonzales has been charged with eight felony counts, including contributing to the delinquency of a minor and conspiracy.
According to Dona Ana County Sheriff’s investigators, two 14-year-old twin sisters told their parents Gonzales and 22-year-old Marcos Anthony Moncayo, came to their home on Jan. 12 with bottles of liquor. The girls told investigators that they told the men they were 20 years old when they met the men through a social networking site called MocoSpace.com.
The girls said they told the men they were 14 years old before they went to their home.
According to court documents, one of the sisters alleges Moncayo sexually assaulted her.
Moncayo was arrested on 10 felony counts. He bonded out of jail Tuesday after his bond was reduced at arraignment.
