Las Cruces Police detained a man Friday after he allegedly got out of hand inside the Third Judicial District Attorney’s Office in Dona Ana County.
According to a police report obtained by ABC-7, Arturo Mendoza Jr. has been charged with criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct, and criminal trespass.
The police report cites witnesses who say Mendoza was upset over the resolution of a case involving a relative.
Photos of Mendoza were included in an email sent to staff by Dona Ana County spokesman Jess Williams that said Mendoza is not allowed inside the D.A.’s office unless he is escorted by police.
Witnesses told police Mendoza allegedly punched a hole in one of the walls and yelled obscenities at the district attorney and county investigators.
“Arrest me so I can take care of it myself,” Mendoza allegedly said at the D.A.’s office.
