Man in wheelchair hit and killed while crossing the road
Central El Paso Police dispatch confirms: a 69 year old man, who was hit bya driver on Eucalyptus and Paisano, has died.
It happened before 10 Saturday night. Police say the man walked into oncoming traffic. The driver, who hit him, stopped to help the man before officials arrived.
The man was taken to University Medical Center with serious injuries. He later died. No charges have been filed against the driver. Police say the pedestrian was at fault because he walked against the don’t walk signal.
Police are still investigating if a pre-existing condition was the cause of his death.
