West El Paso home a total loss after fire Sunday night

A woman’s home in the 400 block of N. Resler is a total loss after a fire broke out in it Sunday night.

The homeowner arrived at her home shortly after 8:30 p.m. to find her home completely filled with smoke. She asked her neighbors to call 911 and they also assisted her in rescuing her dog from the backyard.

Firefighters extinguished the bulk of the fire in less than 15 minutes and kept the fire from spreading to any of the adjoining units.

A fire investigator determined the fire started on the second floor of the home but due to the extensive fire damage the cause of the fire is undetermined.

Damage is estimated at $115,000. The woman’s family is assisting the displaced family of three.
