Woman dies after getting hit by a car near downtown

UPDATE (April 6) -- El Paso Police said the injured person, a 30-year-old woman, died in the hospital Monday.

Investigators found out the woman was traveling southbound on I-10 while a car was driving toward her. The woman was sent to the hospital but succumbed to her injuries, police said.

EPPD added, this is the 14th traffic death 2026 compared to 19 at this time last year. The investigation is ongoing.

UPDATE-- EPPD's Special Traffic Investigations unit is on scene.

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA)--El Paso Fire says one person was seriously injured after getting hit by a car on I-10 near downtown El Paso. All lanes heading east are currently shut down.

The call came in at 7:57 p.m.

It does look like police are investigating.
