Destination El Paso sponsors out-of-town woman in visit to Borderland for tourney
A lucky woman from Mississippi got to visit the borderland for the Conference USA tournament thanks to Destination El Paso.
ABC-7 caught up with Brumfield at the tourney. She said, “It’s been a great experience. El Paso is not a place we would’ve decided on whim to come on a vacation, it’s been a great visit and play we would love to come back to.”
Dawn Brumfield entered a contest sponsored by Destination El Paso, formerly El Paso Convention and Vistor’s bureau. The group provided roundtrip airfare, hotel accommodations, and passes to all the games.
Brumfield cheers on the Southern Miss Golden Eagles. However, she did say even though UTEP is a rival for them, it’s great to see them play in the tournament. She shared that UTEP coach Tim Floyd has a tie closer to her neck of the woods. Floyd was born in Hattisburg, Mississippi. Brumfield said it’d make for an interesting game.
