KVIA

EL PASO, Texas-- A few weeks ago ABC-7's Iris Lopez introduced the borderland to Don Leo during one of her Sunday Funday moment's. Don Leo was wrapping Christmas presents as a way to raise funds to help him deal with his cancer finances as he dealt with his second cancer diagnosis.

Elizabeth Hernandez, store manager for Kendra Scott of El Paso, saw the story and immediately knew they had to help Don Leo out.

"We feel super strong about Philanthropy here at Kendra Scott. We love that part about our jobs and we love that all my entire team has huge hearts and we're able to show that with all of our events and all the things that we do," said Hernandez.

After speaking with Don Leo's daughter, Stephanie Guzman, Hernandez was able to set a date for the event.

Dozens of locals went shopping Saturday night for the 2-hour Kendra Scott gives back event. 20% of the purchases made during the 2-hour event went back to Don Leo to help him pay for his cancer treatments. Saturday night's event made Don Leo's daughter, Stephanie, feel very appreciative and grateful.

"I just wanna thank everyone who has helped me, my family and my dad. It really means a lot that people have helped us to get my dad the treatment that he needs. Just thank you very much we truly appreciate it," said Guzman.

Don Leo is currently in Houston right now with his wife beginning the first stages for his cancer treatment.
