Las Cruces Police arrest woman for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend

Las Cruces Police arrested a woman for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend following an argument this past weekend.

Genevieve M. Reyes, 34, of the 1300 block of Gladys Drive, is charged with one count of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

Police were sent to the couple’s home at about 10 p.m. Saturday, July 19 on a report of a stabbing.

Police say that Reyes and the 38-year-old victim were arguing when he locked himself in a room in the home.

Reyes then pried the door open with a knife before allegedly stabbing her boyfriend as he left the room.

His injuries were not life-threatening.

Reyes was booked into the Dona Ana County Detention Center with bond set at $10,000. She has since posted bail.
