El Paso Citizen Alert

Get alerted about emergencies and other important community news by signing up for the El Paso Notification System. This notification system enables the City/County to provide you with critical information quickly in a variety of situations, such as severe weather, unexpected road closures, missing persons, and evacuation of buildings or neighborhoods.

You will receive time-sensitive messages wherever you specify, such as your home, cell, or business phone, email, text messages, hearing impaired receiving devices, and more. You pick where, you pick how.

El Paso Independent School District

EPISD spokesperson Vanessa Monsivais told ABC-7 they have more than 62,000 students and their system takes time to call everyone.

Some EPISD parents told ABC-7 they received EPISD’s call today up to three hours after the announced delayed start of 9 a.m.

The phone call method of letting parents know of a change is one of many means used by the district to inform parents, Monsisvais told ABC-7.

Another way is the text alert notification which happens in real time.
