El Paso police charge 4 in alleged assault

The El Paso Police Department’s Gang Investigations Unit has arrested and charged four individuals with two counts of Engaging In Organized Criminal Activity Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and Assault.

Police say that at 2:45 a.m. Sept. 28, 2013 on the 10500 block of Montwood, Andres Rubio, Erik Pena, Angel Maldonado, and Joshua Apodaca were involved in a fight and allegedly assaulted three men by kicking and punching them. They also allegedly stabbed one of the victims who sustained several lacerations to his upper arm and back.

Two of the victims were treated at an area hospital.

Their bond amounts have been set at $150,000 each. This investigation continues and the Gang unit anticipates additional arrests.
