Sheriff’s Office release ID of man killed in rollover Wednesday

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office has released the identity of the man killed in a single-vehicle rollover in Canutillo Wednesday afternoon.

Sheriff’s officials say 55-year-old Ediberto Ramos Galan was driving a Ford F-150 east bound in the 1000 block of Vinton Avenue.

Galan was driving in the right lane when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle veered right and partially off the roadway and onto the shoulder.

Sheriff’s officials say Galan overcorrected to the left, forcing the vehicle to travel across the eastbound lane, then the westbound lane before colliding with a dirt embankment.

Two witnesses stopped to assist the driver taking him out of the vehicle and started CPR on Galan.

Galan was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Galan was not wearing a seatbelt and it is not known if speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.

This is the eight traffic fatality in El Paso County this year.
