Inmate at Southern New Mexico Correctional Facility dies from fight injuries
An inmate at the Southern New Mexico Correctional Facility was killed in a fight on November 7.
Carlos Lozano and another inmate fought each other in the recreation area.
Lozano received medical attention and was then taken to a hospital in El Paso.
Lozano died from his injuries on Nov. 15.
New Mexico State Police are conducting a criminal investigation into the incident.
The New Mexico Corrections Department is not releasing the other inmate’s name at this time because he has not been charged.
