Thousands fill the Sun Bowl for the One Direction concert

Outside the Sun Bowl, “directioners” walked and waited in full gear, some arriving as early at one in the afternoon. Gates opened at 5:00 p.m., the show started at 6:00 p.m.

For the few who weren’t already flaunting their love of One Direction’s Nial, Zayn, Liam, Harry and Louis, the merchandise booth was humming, making hundreds if not thousands off the passion these teen have for the British pop boy band.

And they’re not just teen girls. One mother drove 11 hours from Denver, Colorado to give her girls a treat. Another father drove his daughter 15 hours from Missouri just to see the show.

The show ended around 10:00 p.m. with fireworks and an encore edition of “You Don’t know You’re Beautiful.”
