Weather First Alert: Windy conditions, slight chance of rain persist
A First Alert continues into the afternoon hours Saturday.
Winds are forecast to range from 15 to 25 mph, with gusts up to 45 mph.
Some areas may see localized blowing dust as a result of the increased winds, but due to rain yesterday the dust is not expected to be as thick as in past weeks.
In addition to winds, there is still a 10 to 20 percent chance of spotty rain showers around the region. Any rainfall will be low in accumulation.
Following the winds and chance at rain, temperatures will cool.
Saturday evening into Sunday morning the lows around the Borderland will dip towards the freezing point. El Paso has a forecast low of 34, and 32 in Las Cruces.
Sunday high temperatures will stay well below average, and much cooler than the region has been seeing. Temperatures are forecast to cap in the mid 50s for much of the area.
