5-year-old hospitalized after being struck by motorcyclist

El Paso Police are investigating a late Sunday night traffic accident in which a 5-year-old boy was struck by a motorcycle.

Police say the crash occurred at 10:16 p.m. in the 14000 block of Tierra Venado when a boy was crossing the street with an adult family member when the child was struck by a passing motorcycle.

Police say that initially the driver, whose name was not released, left the scene however once at his home he called police to report the crash and is cooperating with the investigation.

The child was transported by El Paso Fire/Medical to University Medical Center where he was being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The child was last reported to be in stable condition. At this time investigators have determined that alcohol is not a factor in this crash and no charges have been filed at this time.
