Homicides, auto thefts, assaults decrease in El Paso

El Paso is seeing significant decreases in homicides, auto thefts, and assaults through the September 21, 2013 compared to this same time period in 2012, according to El Paso Police.

As of Sept. 21 there have been 8 homicides in El Paso compared to 21 during this same time period in 2012.

There have been 522 reported auto thefts through Sept. 21 compared to 866 during this same time period in 2012.

The Central and Westside areas of town each posted 50% decreases in Auto Thefts for 2013 compared to 2012.

Assaults are down 11 percent with 7,022 being reported through Sept. 21 compared to 7,873 reported during this time period in 2012.
