Local abortion clinic reopens Tuesday
Hill Top Women’s Reproductive Clinic opened its doors Tuesday morning after closing for several weeks.
Earlier this month, Supreme Court justices suspended an appeals court ruling that would have forced Texas clinics to spend millions of dollars on hospital-level upgrades.
Clinic administrators told ABC-7 while the Supreme Court makes a final ruling, the clinic can run as usual.
A doctor that performs abortions at Hill Top told ABC-7 about a dozen patients walked in Tuesday.
Nurse administrator, Gloria Martinez, said they picked election to reopen.
“It’s time that we women stand for our rights and not hide from it and stand for our right and vote for the proper people who will open those doors for us as opposed to people who will close those doors for us,” Martinez said.
There are typically a handful of protestors outside the clinic, but Martinez said they saw none Tuesday.
