Fast-food employees locked in freezer following robbery

Sheriff’s deputies are investigating an aggravated robbery in Fabens.

The alleged robbery occurred around 3:30 a.m. Saturday morning on the 1200 block of north Fabens.

The sheriff’s office said in a release an “unknown offender” entered a fast-food establishment through a drive-thru window.

The offender had a firearm, and reportedly locked two employees into a walk-in freezer, deputies said.

The man took $300 from a cash register, and fled the scene, officials added.

According to the release, the offender may have been wearing gloves. Officials described the suspect as “having an item on his face.”

Deputies continue to investigate the incident.
