Names released in deadly northeast El Paso crash

A woman died early Saturday morning after a car crashed in northeast El Paso. Police confirm she is 20-year-old Leeza Lugo of Anthony, Texas.

The woman was a passenger inside a Dodge pickup truck that rolled on Loop 375 near Railroad Drive. Three Fort Bliss soldiers were in the truck and were injured. A second civilian female was also hurt.

The soldier driving is confirmed to be Fort Bliss-resident 22-year-old Jacob McGuire. He is charged with intoxicated manslaughter with a vehicle.

According to a Fort Bliss spokesman, the four other individuals that were injured did not suffer life threatening injuries.

“Our thoughts and concerns are with the victim’s family,” said Major Joseph Buccino in a release to ABC-7.

Four victims are recovering at University Medical Center.

A section of Loop 375 was shut down during the early morning hours. The area has since re-opened.
