ABC-7 StormTrack Weather: Hot and mostly dry through Tuesday – another chance for a triple digit day

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- Sunday is tracking a continued drying trend across the Borderland to round out our weekend with isolated thunderstorms possible mainly over the higher elevations.

Most lowland communities, including El Paso and Las Cruces, tracking to remain dry through Tuesday as drier air and high pressure continue to limit storm development.

Temperatures are tracking a few degrees above normal, with most lowland locations near or just above 100 degrees through the first half of the week. The combination of dry air, warming temperatures, and limited storm coverage will keep the weather pattern mostly hot and dry.

By Wednesday, the weather pattern is expected to change as the upper-level high weakens and shifts east. Increasing moisture from the south will bring a more typical monsoon setup, with area-wide shower and thunderstorm chances returning during the second half of the week. Temperatures should also ease slightly as moisture increases.
