Loretto Academy’s newest additions, big milestones, upcoming events

Loretto Academy joins Good Morning El Paso on Monday as our back-to-school coverage continues.

Loretto Academy Athletic Director Oscar Nieto talks about their new weight room, how athletics leads to student development, how they balance it with academic and college readiness.

He also mentions their upcoming annual golf tournament on Friday, September 25, 2026.

Nieto says the funds will be used to renovate the girls' locker room.

They invite the community to participate as golfers, sponsors or community partners.

Norma Lopez, elementary school principal explains that Loretto Elementary is co-educational, serving both boys and girls.

Lopez says STEM is incorporated at every grade level through hands-on, age-appropriate learning, where students develop curiosity, creativity, collaboration and problem-solving skills.

Cynthia Munoz is the middle and high school principal who says it's the 50th anniversary of Loretto Middle School and explains it's impact on generations of students.

She shares the middle school traditions, including dances and social activities that build friendships and school spirit.

Interim president Nancy Tovar focuses on the Loretto sisterhood is a lifelong bond rooted in faith, service, shared traditions and mutual support.
