Ex-cab driver found not guilty of attempted murder in Las Cruces shooting incident

Ex-cab driver Darren Henry has been found not guilty of attempted murder and aggravated assault in an incident two years ago in which he shot a man six times.

The jury found henry guilty of aggravated battery and guilty of tampering with evidence.

The criminal complaint states Henry threatened to go to his ex-girlfriend’s home and was armed with a gun.

He drove his cab to the home on the 4000 block of North Elks in Las Cruces.

The man Henry shot, Matthew Narvaez, testified on Wednesday, saying he armed himself with a stick.

Narvaez said he tossed it because he thought the two men would fight.

Narvaez said Henry was standing six to eight feet from him when Hentry shot him six times.
