Christmas in El Paso: KVIA broadcasts the 79th Annual Celebration of Lights

Downtown El Paso is bright and full of Christmas lights just in time for the holidays.

Thousands made their way to Cleveland Square Saturday afternoon to enjoy the sights and sounds of Celebration of Lights, sponsored by Evolve Credit Union.

The Fort Bliss 1st Armour Division band played Christmas carols, along with Del Valle High School Choir. Speakers included Mayor Oscar Leeser, officials from Fort Bliss and Bishop Mark Seitz. The program was hosted by ABc-7’s Stephanie Valle, and followed by the lighting of the Christmas tree, a parade and fireworks.

KVIA broadcasted the event, with Bob Harp and Karla Huelga anchoring, and Ashlie Rodriguez and Krystal Klei reporting from the crowd.
