Raiz offering free financial education courses from home, in schools

Raiz

Education doesn't happen only in the classroom — Raiz is working to educate children and even adults on finance with free courses available from anywhere.

Good Morning El Paso's Nicole Ardila joins them on Monday morning to talk about how they connect with schools and community members.

Raiz provides free financial education courses for children ages 8-12 years old that focus on saving and budgeting.

They offer free financial education courses for teenagers 13-19 years old on topics that include budgeting, credit cards, auto loans, checking accounts and more.

Raiz also collaborates with schools to bring financial concepts into the classrooms.

Teachers are able to sign up for free to access a full curriculum of financial topics and workbooks to incorporate into their lesson plans, making planning easier and learning financial basics fun.

They are able to assess progress and learning with included pre and post-tests.

Raiz also has a high school spirit debit card program, which generates donations for the school of your choice.

Raiz offers the school logo of 38 schools in El Paso County, from Anthony to Tornillo.

Donations are generated with every transactions that doesn’t require a PIN and are paid for by Raiz.

Raiz also has scholarship opportunities. Applications open in January and are offered to high school seniors and college students pursuing higher education in all fields.
