City Hires New Deputy City Attorney

City council signed off Tuesday on the hiring of Don Minton as a new deputy city attorney in its legal department.

Minton is a former district judge who handled child support cases. He was also president of his law firm for nine years.

“Mr. Minton has a lot of experience in litigation. Both in private practice and also on his time on the bench,” said City Attorney Silvia Firth, “It’s a unique opportunity for us to hire somebody who has judicial experience.”

Firth recommended Minton for the vacancy in her department. ABC-7 has learned his annual salary will be $105,000.
