Eight CISD students hospitalized following school bus crash

A crash involving multiple vehicles Friday morning left eight students from the Clint Independent School District hospitalized. Investigators with the Horizon City Police Department said the injuries were minor.

The crash happened at 7:45 a.m. at 14521 Horizon Blvd. in Horizon City.

Police said a CISD school bus was stopped at a stoplight, with a second vehicle waiting behind it. A third vehicle then reportedly struck that second vehicle, which then struck the school bus. Police did not release any information about the condition of the passengers in the vehicle behind the bus.

The driver of the third vehicle was 21-year-old Brianna Cardenas. She was cited for not having a driver’s license, not having insurance and failing to control speed.
