Overnight camping event to make return at Ascarate Park late September

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- El Paso County officials announced Saturday that registration for the Ascarate Park Camp Out event is now open for Borderland camping enthusiasts.

The event will be held at Ascarate Park on September 26-27, where officials say that individuals will get the chance to camp alongside the lake, fish, and stargaze.

Anyone interested in claiming a spot will have to register at the Ascarate Park Administrative Office located at 6900 Delta Dr., El Paso, TX 79905 between August 22 until September 25.

Organizers say adults pay $10; children, seniors, and veterans pay $5.

Officials say that picnic shelters will also be available to reserve starting at $50.

Check in for campers will be September 26 between 3-5 p.m. and check out will be September 27 at 9 a.m.
