Car show benefits St. Joseph’s

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) — A local car show is bringing cars, trucks and motorcycles together this Sunday to raise money for repairs at St. Joseph’s.

Al Lujan and Justin Zaborowski with the Knights of Columbus joined ABC-7 to discuss the fundraiser, which will benefit St. Joseph’s building fund.

Organizers say the school building needs roof repairs expected to cost about $100,000. They hope to raise at least $50,000 through the event and other donations.

The car show will run from 2 to 7 p.m., with food available beginning at 11:30 a.m. Organizers say the family-friendly event will also feature loteria, prizes and food, including enchiladas, pulled pork and pulled pork nachos.

Those who want to enter a car, truck or motorcycle in the show can register for $20. Participants can also register their vehicles on the day of the event.

The Best in Show winner will receive a $500 grand prize.

Lujan and Zaborowski said about 15 vehicles were already registered at the time of their interview with ABC-7, but more participants are welcome.

Proceeds from the event will go toward the building fund and help pay for needed roof repairs.
