Abundant Church hosts 2-day healing event for anyone struggling mentally, spiritually

The spiritual community is getting together for those struggling with mental health at Abundant Church's two-day Abundant Recovery event this weekend.

Abundant's lead pastor Jared Nieman syas you don't need to need to be Christian or spiritual to join this event.

"Don't live in silence, so many people are carrying a silent pain or a silent hurt, and it's causing them real anxiety and fear," says Nieman. "You're not alone, you don't have to carry this by yourself."

Whether you're struggling with addiction, depression, or dealing with anxiety, intense trauma, pain, or divorce, Abundant says they want you to recover and find joy after it.

While they'll have speakers during both events, they are also offering one-on-one support with anyone who needs someone to talk to, someone to hear them, someone with empathy, compassion and understanding of what they've been through.

It's intended to build spiritual support for anyone in the community.

"If they're hurting, if they're carrying a burden that they feel is weighing them down, I would want to tell them that I believe that they could be free from it, and they can find healing, they can find peace, they can find restoration, and they can find joy," says the lead pastor. "Just open your mind and come, if you don't like it, you can get up and leave."

This is a free weekend even for anyone over 17 years old.

It's happening Friday, August 28 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, August 29 at 9 a.m. at Abundant East.

There's free childcare service in Friday's event.
