House near Socorro catches fire

Firefighters were busy overnight battling a house fire on the 9700 block of Staubach Drive near Socorro.

Officials on scene tell ABC-7 it started when a tree in the backyard caught fire, and then spread to the back of the house.

This happened around 4:30 a.m. Thursday.

The house was vacant at the time, and there were no injuries to report.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
