Fire causes roof to collapse in Northeast El Paso home

A large fire severely damaged a home in El Paso’s Northeast side.

The condition 3 fire happened around 5 a.m. Sunday at 10828 Sapphire Drive.

Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control at around 5:30 a.m.

Officials with the El Paso Fire Department say no one was home at the time of the blaze. The fire was contained to the house where the fire originated.

First responders saved the family dog, and no other injuries were reported.

The total estimated damage to the home was $120,000.

An investigation is ongoing.
