Visiting Karol G fans share their impression of El Paso

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) - Karol G performs for the second time on Sunday to finish the El Paso leg of her "Viajando Por El Mundo Tropitour" before moving on to Boston for her September 12th performance at Gillette Stadium.

Fans who spoke to ABC-7 mentioned several aspects of El Paso which left them with a positive impression of the city as well as mentioning why they felt Karol G is an artist worth traveling for.

Emma Sanchez, a fan from Hereford, Texas said the mixed culture of the city stuck out to her while her mother complimented the 'friendly' people.

One local fan, Alice Widas, said she thought visitors would like the landscapes and sunsets of the city with a similar sentiment to the Sanchez's mentioning the 'vibe' of the people.

"The city like the mountain ranges and like the beautiful sunsets here. It's really beautiful and the people here really a vibe to," Widas said.

The scene before the concert was very similar if not more crowded than that of Saturday, fans lining up hours before the doors open credit cards in hand ready to buy merchandise with enough water and even umbrellas to combat the heat.

Another group of fans from Colorado, Nicole Esmerelda Moriel and Grisel Almendra Moriel, said this was the second time they had traveled to see Karol G with Nicole mentioning the 'incredible' feeling of exploring a new city all because one of their favorite musician came to perform.

"It's incredible, I mean you get to travel and not only see the world, but see somebody you admire, your idol," Nicole said. "She's inspiring daily. I mean, loves her country and loves other countries. It makes us just want to be like her."

Nicole also expanded on why she feels Karol G is a musician worth making the trip, saying the artist has 'remained humble' instead of changing once her fame grew.

"She can be for everyone because she's just so free and she inspires everybody. She loves everybody. She never changed," Nicole said. "No matter from how low she came she just stayed humble and I feel like that's why she always brings more people. Because she never changed and she was always the same humble person."

"Unlike most artists who change when fame hits. I feel like she's another Adam Sandler where she just stayed like herself you know. Her personality, she didn't let money get to her and I feel like that's what inspires me most about her."

Grisel said exploring new places was a bonus of following an artist while also mentioning one of the main reasons the pair liked that the concert was in El Paso was the fact it was a homecoming for them with both having family in Juarez while also complimenting the 'beautiful' city of El Paso.

"It's just getting to see new places and traveling with family," Grisel Said. "But we're also actually very happy she came to El Paso. We were born here and all our family's from Juarez so it was great having to be able to come back to our great birth city."

Grisel gave another reason why coming to El Paso was worth it after going to Saturday's concert, saying every Karol G concert makes her feel like she's seen the singer for the first time.

"Every single time I see her it's like I'm seeing her again for the very first time. I still don't believe that I have her so close to me," Grisel said.
