Motorcyclist airlifted to hospital; eastbound lanes on Transmountain remain closed after crash

UPDATE (6:09 PM) -- The El Paso Fire Department has confirmed to ABC-7 that a motocyclist was airlifted to a local hospital by the department's FireStar helicopter.

As of this update, eastbound lanes remain closed as the El Paso County Sheriff's Office conducts an investigation as to what led up to the crash.

UPDATE (4:51 PM) - According to a social media post from the El Paso County Sheriff's Office (EPCSO), a motorcycle crash is causing the closure of eastbound lanes on Transmountain.

Officials warn drivers that they should expect delays and to use alternate routes, as there is no estimated time of reopening.

The Sheriff's Office did not release any information regarding any injuries.

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) says that a crash on Transmountain has closed all eastbound lanes of Loop 375.

TxDOT reported the crash around 4:19 p.m. Sunday afternoon and says at least one vehicle is involved.

Crews monitoring traffic cameras are seeing vehicles heading eastbound on Transmountain being turned around by officials.

ABC-7 has reached out to officials to find out more information about the severity of the crash and whether anyone was injured.
