Kitten rescued from 20-foot-deep pipe in El Paso

EL PASO ANIMAL SERVICES

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA)-- Officials with El Paso Animal Services say that one of their officers rescued a kitten that had fallen inside a utility pipe near some communication towers.

According to El Paso Animal Services, the kitten was 20 feet down into the pipe, where it was surrounded by collected rainwater and trash.

Officer Amador, the rescuing officer, lowered a rope into the pipe, providing the kitten something to hold onto, and the kitten was then pulled up to safety.

El Paso Animal Services took the kitten to the shelter and prepared him for adoption, cleaning him and giving him shots. Officials with animal services say the person who called animal services to report the stranded kitten decided to adopt the kitten.
