Commercial structure fire extinguished in East El Paso

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- The El Paso Fire Department (EPFD) confirmed that a commercial structure fire was put out early Tuesday morning in East El Paso.

EPFD said that around 2:49 a.m. on September 8, firefighter personnel responded to reports of smoke on the block of 11200 Pellicano Dr. The incident was a Condition 2 commercial structure fire after multiple callers reported a building on fire.

Officials say the first unit arrived at approximately 2:57 a.m. and found a one-story commercial building on fire. Crews requested drone assistance to monitor the fire and identify hot spots. Crews continued extinguishing hot spots until approximately 7:10 a.m. 

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

EPFD says a total of 13 units and 28 personnel responded to this incident.
